Beauty Tips For Body Care
TL;DR - 4+ years ago, an esthetician performed a cosmetic treatment that left my face unable to sweat, a risk/aspect she did not explain beforehand. Its main side effects have been hyper-sensitivity to heat and excessive (compensatory) sweating around the rest of my head and body. It is embarrassing and socially inconvenient. I am looking for any guidance or suggestions as to what I can do about this, medically. Even experimental, at this point. Not really seeking legal angles because I lack the funds, time, energy, and will to pursue.Over four years ago, an esthetician performed on me a dermatological facial treatment package that killed my face’s sweat glands, without me knowing it then because she didn’t explain what it would do, only that it would help. I didn’t question her because our previous 3 treatment sessions had gone great. The offending procedure that she included in this session's package was a laser normally used to treat excessive sweating, I later figured out.As a side-effect, the rest of my head and body now sweat profusely to compensate, and the sweat-less areas become extra oily. Now, in any environment with higher than 70F/20C and 50% humidity, or even when it’s relatively cool but I am nervous about something, I start to look like I just got out of working out while everyone else is comfortable. And, obviously, this is embarrassing and very socially inconvenient. My body has always run “hot” due to a couple of other chronic health conditions (mainly my nasal-breathing difficulties and my mild Rosacea) that I’ve been managing my whole life. But now without being able to sweat microscopically from my face to dissipate some of that heat, this has turned into embarrassing compensatory sweating.I’m turning to the collective wisdom of you all in the hopes of finding some sort of guidance. At this point, I feel desperate enough to try even experimental treatments to somehow regenerate my face’s ability to sweat (which, according to my research online, is sadly impossible), but I don’t know where else to turn because the handful of dermatologists that I have seen over the years were unsympathetic and/or unhelpful.Thank you!
