Beauty Tips For Body Care
I had acne as a teenager, and since ~14 have been buying random products trying to get rid of it. Since I went to university I only had a few spots (mainly above my chin), I assume the majority cleared up by themselves but I still didn't have 'nice' skin and kept up trying routines. Eventually I suspected that the products I was using could be too harsh and tried some lighter ones but with not much success. Additionally, I have eczema on my arms and the pharmacist only told me quite recently that quite a lot of people are allergic to some of the things in some moisturisers and suggested some SLS-free creams. It's probably worth mentioning that before this I thought my skin was really oily and was using products for this, but I also had dry skin ("how can my skin be too dry and too oily?!!") and was using lots of moisturiser and exfoliating every day. Then I went on holiday for two weeks and forgot all skin products (apart from my eczema stuff). I was just washing my face with water in the shower, once a day for two weeks and my skin has never looked better. I bought a jar of coconut oil in the supermarket for about 4 euros and used literally just that on my face and arms after showering. No scrubbing, no exfoliating. I continued this after the holiday and the results stuck. This post is 100% anecdotal and this is definitely not advice for everyone, but the point is that when you have skin problems it's really easy to get drawn in with 5 different products and a morning and night routine, especially if you've been applying products constantly for years trying to find the right ones (I'm 22 now btw). But a few people might need to consider that leaving your skin alone as much as possible might be the best thing for it.
