Just wondering if anyone has had something similar happen because this last cycle of breakouts has been particularly frustrating.I'm 27, have very fair skin and get hormonal/stress related breakouts ( thanks wedding planning)A week ago I could see a pimple coming up on my cheekbone, I just popped some salicylic acid cream on it and went on my way. It didn't get any better so I started treating it every night before bed with more cream and once that has soaked in, a cosrx pimple patch.Fast forward a week and the pimple never came to a head, but instead is just a red bump. My skin tends to get hyperpigmentation after cystic acne and I could see the skin starting to get darker. But the treatments didn't really seem to help they just kinda froze the pimple in its tracks but it was stuck there?I had been super good about not picking at it and exfoliating gently every few days but I couldn't help it when I saw the hyperpigmentation start I sterilised a pin, stabbed and squeezed. The skin over the pimple was tough, but pus came out when I squeezed and now the spot is flat. It's almost like the pus that was coming up became surrounded by scar tissue because I treated it?Has anyone else had a similar experience? I remember this happening once or twice before, but never to this extent. It's almost as if treating the spot made it harden up. Any advice?
