Beauty Tips For Body Care
Some background: got hormonal acne after getting off contraceptive pills. Used Differin (adapalene 0.1%) for 5 months. I was told I'd see the results after 4-6 weeks, but even after 5 months my acne still wasn't fully gone. Sometimes it'd subside and I'd have *almost* clear skin for a day or two, but then I'd break out again. Got tired of battling it and went to the derm.Current situation: I live in Eastern Europe, and my country has a haphazard approach to health. Many meds that are prescription-only everywhere else are sold over the counter here, which is why I'm worried. My derm is the best in town, and she told me that if I was so worried about it and wanted to clear up the remaining acne and get rid of it for good, she'd have me go on Accutane. She prescribed 16mg/day and only for 4 months instead of 14 months, as it should be. Still, isn't this a bit of an overkill? Whenever Accutane is mentioned, people always stress that it's the last resort. My skin doesn't even look that bad right now (although it's still the clearest skin I've had in months, usually it's much worse). I'm not sure if Accutane is really needed here and wanted to get some second opinions.
