Beauty Tips For Body Care
I want to start out by saying that I'm a trans woman, I can't afford laser/electro treatments until next year, and I absolutely hate shaving my face. I don't really know if this post fits here or is better off going in a shaving related subreddit, but I at least need a place to start.Please see here for pictures of what I'm dealing with. These were taken about 12 hours after I shaved. My face in those pictures has been cleaned gently with a washcloth and just water, the white bits are flakes of skin.After I shave, I (sometimes) get terrible rashes if I'm a bit too rough, and nearly ALWAYS get little skin bumps 7 to 8ish hours later, which usually looks like stubble just pushing skin out of the way as it grows back. It comes in terribly quick, and sometimes I need to shave twice a day if I'm going out later in the evening (which only makes things hurt more, as my face is still sensitive from the first shave of the day). It almost seems like folliculitis, but all the pictures on google are so much more serious than this, so I'm not convinced.Before I shave I very gently exfoliate with a sugar scrub, or if it gets really bad and I can see the skin hanging over the hairs, I'll use a pumice stone (only in the direction of the grain, not against). It really never seems to help much. I use standard shaving cream you can find at walmart (Pure Silk, Gillette, etc), and I've used a few different razors from Gillette (the super expensives ones like fusion power or whatnot), some of the Venus razors, and am currently using razors from the Dollar Shave Club. None of them seem any better than the other when it comes to this.So please, if anyone has any tips or information, or a better place to post this, please let me know! I'm so tired of freshly shaving and running my hand a long my face, just for it to hurt and for there to still be bumps everywhere. I'll try to take some different pictures if need be, also.Thanks!
