[Acne] Went to a skincare professional and she popped all my pimples... does this work?

So I’m 24 (male) and I’ve been dealing with really bad acne over the past few months due to hormones (recently lost 40 lbs).My mom’s close friend is a skincare professional and she was demanding I come in so she can pop all my pimples.I went in and she literally popped and squeezed literally every single pimple on my face. It was honestly the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced in my 24 years of existence.She lanced each pimple and squeezed until blood would come out.1) Is this a successful procedure that professionals do? I trust her bc she’s a licensed professional but I’ve never heard of acne being treated like this.2) How bad is scarring going to be? She’s telling me I’m going to be getting a bunch of scabs on my face. I have a friends birthday celebration I need to attend on Saturday and would like to not look like the girl from the exorcist...Any advice is much appreciated
