[Misc] Here are my skincare-related sustainability hacks, what are yours?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey everyone, long time lurker / first time poster here. I was hoping to start a discussion about ways to be more environmentally sustainable while caring for one’s skin. I’d love to know whether this is something you’ve thought about, or if you have any tips. Also, definitely let me know if any of my info is incorrect!Konjac puffs, in general - they’re compostable and easy to clean! I use mine to remove oil when oil cleansing and it’s so much easier than laundering washcloths.Love a product? Buy the biggest bottle you can use before it expires to cut down on packaging. (Pro tip: wholesale ingredient suppliers like Lotioncrafter are a great place to get oils like squalane)Similarly, consider buying slow-to-expire holy grails in bulk when ordering online. Much as I love online shopping, shipping does have an environmental impact. (Do make sure you’ll use it all before it expires though!)Have lots of unused skincare you don’t want or need? Call your local women’s shelter and ask whether you can donate it! (thanks, u/JoanOfSarcasm!). Be sure to ask what they need most, and what condition the products need to be in.Try giving that facial sunscreen you hate a second lease on life as a summer hand cream. I did this with Andalou rose sunscreen and it is so perfect as a hand cream.Got a conditioner that just didn’t work for you? Shaving cream.Use a laundry bag to prevent your soft microfiber face towels from polluting the environmentDon’t use microbeads to exfoliate!Additional discussion, plus info on recycling beauty product packagingEdit: link formatting
