[Misc] I realized that spending more on skincare than on my retirement savings every month was self-destructive, not self care. Here's the frugal product list I've been using since July

Beauty Tips For Body Care
After going over my credit card and checking account histories this spring during tax season, I realized that I was spending more on skin care than I was saving in my retirement fund. I've always been a bad saver. At 30, I had nothing put aside for retirement. I missed out on 10 years of compound interest for really, no good reason. I would buy a drunk elephant or sunday riley product every few months to "treat myself", or order stuff after reading about it on this forum. I was spending $140/month, which really surprised me. If you had asked me back in April what I thought I spent, I would have said $40. My skin is better now, I think because I switch products less and I'm sticking to what works for me.Here's the (more) frugal product list I've been using since July, below. I usually buy once a month-ish.- Mineral oil (baby oil unscented, $3.99)- Cerave PM ($16.99)- Almond meal no shells, small bag ($2.99)- The Ordinary's salicylic acid 2% ($7.00)- The Ordinary vitamin C ($6.80)- Clay powder ($6.00) - really once every three months- Banana boat baby sunscreen SPF 60 ($9.99) - once every two monthsHere's my AM routine:- Cerave PM- Banana boat baby sunscreenHere's my PM routine:- Clay mask on trouble spots- Mineral oil on skin, then use warm wet washcloth to take off (once a week I'll do mineral oil mixed with almond meal as a gentle exfoliant -- same stuff used in herbalism, which I used to buy all the time from lush)- Salicylic acid 2% or Vitamin C- Cerave PM
