Beauty Tips For Body Care
Recently, I have realized I am very sensitive to silicones so I decided to try Drunk Elephant, which is silicone, paraben and SLS free. I got the Inspector Drunk Night Kit with TLC Framboos, the Beste Jelly Cleanser, B-Hydra, Lala Retro Moisturizer and C-Tango Eye Cream and the Babyfacial mini with Marula Oil all from Sephora. I slowly started testing the products. Usually when I test, I patch test one day on my forearm to make sure I’m not allergic, do 3ish days on my forehead, and then try it on my cheeks and chin, which are significantly more sensitive and acne prone than my forehead. In the past few years, I’ve only had two products that have given me breakouts on my forehead. Overall, the products made my skin tone so much worse and gave me a lot of breakouts, even on my forehead, which is rare for me. I’m so disappointed and will probably be returning it all to get more Youth to the People, which my skin loves. Here’s a break down of my thoughts product by product:C-Tango Eye Cream: I don’t like eye creams from a pot so I was excited to try something more serum-like. The day after I tried it, I got a red spot under my eye. I stopped using it immediately but thought maybe it was because the weather had changed and my skin was just reacting to the weather. After the red spot had gone away, I started using it a few days later and sure enough, the red spot was back but now under both eyes. Around my eyes were also super dry and irritated.Lala Retro Moisturizer: I was very excited to try this product because moisturizers without silicones are so hard to find. Didn’t like that the texture was very clumpy and it didn’t go on my skin smoothly. My skin seemed less moisturized after using and I noticed more CCs. Was fine on my forehead but gave me a few breakouts on my cheek.TLC Framboos: goes on nicely, really cool bottle. The first night I tried on my forehead, I noticed my skin was more sensitive and red the next morning. Since it has acids, I used it every other night. After a few more uses, I noticed many more CCs on my forehead and one turned into a breakout.B-Hydra: absorbs well. literally did nothing for my skin. Noticed skin texture was even a little drier after using.Marula Oil: I’ve used marula oil from Acure in the past and it never absorbed into my skin very well so I was interested to see if Drunk Elephant’s would be better because of its significantly higher price point. I tried the Acure and Drunk Elephant oils side by side and I literally saw no difference. I even asked my roommate which they thought absorbed better and they couldn’t tell.the Beste Jelly Cleanser: nice jelly texture, wish it was pump instead of squeeze bottle. Doesn’t want to stay closed. Didn’t seems to do much for my skin. Skin felt a little tight after washing.C-Firma Serum: I tried a sample of this from Sephora because I was looking for a new Vitamin C serum. I didn’t like that it was yellow because I always associate that with spoiled Vitamin C. I know it’s from the pumpkin extract or something but it seems like they’re using something yellow so it’s harder to know when it goes bad. But the texture was weird and didn’t sink in at all to my skin. Noticed more CCs in the area I put it as well.I didn’t try the Babyfacial because after all the bad experiences I had with DE, I was over it.
