[Review] I am so remorseful I gave into the Creme de la Mer hype; Or, Congratulations, I played myself

I have had my eye on Creme de la Mer original formula for what seems like forever and finally decided to give in with the most recent Sephora VIB coupon. I spent time pouring over reviews, talking myself out of considering the negative ones. I wish I had heeded them.What a disappointment. I expected a luxurious moisturizer and I don't even know what I got. It smells nice, I guess. I've been using it for about 3 weeks. I follow the ritual to a T. I rub, wait til it's translucent, and pat into my skin. It has done absolutely nothing positive, and in fact has set my tret-dry skin back so much, see here. My face hurts so bad. I look like a leper when I put on any sort of foundation and powder. I abandoned my routine that was working (listed below) because I was just so sure that a $150 moisturizer was going to be miraculous. I somehow managed to lose the effing receipt, so I am stuck with this overpriced jar that I can't even bring myself to use. I played myself. ​Anyhoo, I guess this was more of a rant-review. Hoping I can save someone else's wallet and skin. Also if La Mer works for you I think that is frieking awesome and I am insanely jealous! Do you need a discounted barely used jar? I got a hookup.Skin Type: Fairly sensitive, combo/on the dry side skin with a LOT of ruddiness. Product tends to just sit on my skin. Not a lot of absorption. Weird.Skin Concerns: My routine is anti-aging focused. I have been using tretinoin 0.025% about 5 times per week since September with no severe effects, that is until I switched my moisturizing routine that was working just fine over to La Mer.
