Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have been looking for a good sunscreen for YEARS now, spending hours lurking this subreddit, cosDNA, and the curology website for one that won't make me break out. I tried all of the popular ones on here, including (but not limited to):Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+ / PA++++ (caused cc)Biore Perfect Face Milk SPF50 (caused cc)Elta MD UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 (caused cc)Shiseido Senka Mineral Water UV Gel (caused terrible cystic acne)La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid (caused cc)Tizo Solar Protection Formula, Facial Mineral Fusion SPF 40 (my face hates silicones)Bare Minerals Prep Step Mineral Shield SPF 50 (was discontinued for a while but it looks like it's back!)Murad City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 (expensive AF)The closest I came to HG was the Bare Mineral Prep Step, but as a very fair individual, the tint was a bit too intense for my skin and I ended up looking quite orange. I found out quickly that chemical sunscreens seem to break me out. My acne is fungal and trying to find a FA safe product has been extremely challenging and frustrating. In one of my late night Amazon sessions, I somehow stumbled upon Endurance Shield High Performance Sunscreen SPF 45: https://www.amazon.com/High-Performance-Sunscreen-SPF-Ounce/dp/B00B2SJL9K/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1544137555&sr=8-3&keywords=endurance+shield+sunscreenHere are the ingredients:Active ingredients: Micronized zinc, 9%. Octyl methoxycinnamate, 1.5%Inactive ingredients: Allantoin, aloe vera (certified organic), alpha bisabolol (chamomile), alpha lipoic acid, borage oil, cucumber extract, evening primrose oil, grape seed extract, hyaluronic acid, plantains, safflower seed, slippery elm, squalane, sunflower seed, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E.I'll admit I was a little bit skeptical about the vitamin E and octyl methoxycinnamate, but so far I haven't had any issues with it clogging my pores. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and my acne has.... improved? My freckles and dark spots are fading and I finally feel okay about all of the actives I use since my skin is protected during the day. It is non-greasy, smells amazing, slightly moisturizing, and has NO WHITE CAST! It works well as a primer under makeup.I haven't seen it mentioned on this sub before, so wanted to give it a shoutout!
