[Personal] After destroying my moisture barrier with St. Ives Apricot Scrub, I finally found a routine that seems to be working!

Before finding this sub, I used St Ives Apricot Scrub for years. I LOVED it. When I started, I had pretty bad acne, and used a variety of chemical exfoliants to help that, which made my face flake. Enter the apricot scrub, and I could finally get those pesky flakes off my face. It also seemed to help my acne.So, I continued using it for a few years, while eventually decreasing the amount of chemical exfoliators. My acne had mostly subsided, but I still had the flakes, which kept getting worse and worse. I added moisturizer after moisturizer but nothing would help my dehydrated skin. I used MORE scrub to try to get rid of the flakes. BAD IDEA. After realizing the scrub was actually the culprit (thanks to this sub), I stopped using it, and accepted that scrubbing my face to remove the flakes was counterproductive. I was treating the symptom, not the source.A whole year after I stopped using the scrub, I am FINALLY seeing improvement in my previously-destroyed-by-apricot-scrub moisture barrier. Hardly any flakes, suppler skin, less oily. Better than it's ever been.If anyone is relatively new to this sub and you don't know about the atrocity that is St. Ives Apricot Scrub, AVOID IT.
