Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello SCA! So as said in the title, I have been gifted this very severe allergy of the castor oil plant by the allergy fairy. I found out after using Farmacy's honey salve, then Blistex's sensitive lip balm (this was when I learned hydroxystearic acid is part of all of this) and then other products from just learning the different derivatives of the oil/plant. My allergist is on high alert now on what I use. This creates the problem in that essentially my entire skincare routine has been donated to my mother as every product contained one or more of the 25+ acids that derive from castor oil. Some companies use castor oil in so many products that I just don't shop from that company (cannot guarantee no cross contamination), so roughly 40-something companies are in the "not safe" list that I have made. This may be more so out of fear.So now I ask of you fine folks. If anyone has this lovely allergy and can assist? If you are curious, the Wiki does have the basic acids. I've already switched out shampoo (no conditioners lack castor oil by products) ,deodorant, and laundry detergent (turns out my body wash was already safe). I have nixed all makeup as well as my products had some form, but I do have a slow list of "maybe" products, mostly from companies that have a natural or vegan collection.Apologies for this being so long, but it has been a process for me and I feel like I'm running out of places to find anything that will help my skin (combination/acne prone/obviously sensitive). The only product that has been deemed safe for me are Ole Henriksen's Oil Control Cleansing Cloths. I've purchased Thayer's toner and inquired a few places about oils and I'm testing them this weekend but I haven't been able to find an actual cleanser or a moisturizer that won't try to kill me.So once, again, any help is appreciated!
