Beauty Tips For Body Care
Since finding this sub my skin has done a complete 180 for the first time in my life and with it my confidence. My skin is far from perfect but (not to sound pretentious) just taking care of my skin and seeing small improvements has been so healing in more ways than one. However, it’s hard for me to let my love for certain products coincide with my desire to cut back on my plastic use and waste out put. My skin is super super sensitive, so when I find stuff that works for me I stick to it, and so much of it comes in plastic. I watched a mini doc recently that said that most of the plastic that has ever been created still exists. So when I look at a bottle of my favorite cleanser (First Aid Beauty Pure Skin) it kinda brings me down a bit to think it’ll end up in a landfill when I’m done.In other areas of life it’s a lot easier to be less wasteful, like using reusable bags, thrifting, donating, etc. But with skin care and especially when you’re skin is sensitive I feel like there aren’t many companies that have sustainable options.Does anyone else struggle with this? Or have advice? I know there are companies like Lush who are more low waste friendly, but I feel like a lot of their products have ingredients that aren’t always good for everyone. It's been a personal goal of mine to make changes in my life to be as low waste as possible. I've been able to make switches in other beauty areas like package free hair and body bars, but I'm not sure what to do when it comes to skin care. I would love to see more companies make reusable, recyclable, etc packaging like how LUSH accepts old pots. Any ideas?
