Beauty Tips For Body Care
I just got back from a consultation with a surgeon who specializes in facial cosmetic surgery. He was very honest, thorough, and answered all my questions. From the beginning, he made sure to tell me that my acne scars would never be completely flat and that working with him, our goal would be to minimize them and seek improvement.I live in California now, but I used to live in Hawaii so my options were very limited. I saw 3 dermatologists in my time there, two for treating my acne, and one for my scarring. I felt like these doctors were definitely trying to cheat me out of my money and giving me false information. One of them claimed that along with clearing my cystic acne, accutane would clear up my scarring too. After my acne was mostly cleared up, I was left with extremely sensitive skin. I met up with another doctor, and I explained to her I just recently got off my course of accutane, and would like to start working on treating my scars. She sounded very confident about how to treat me, and she claimed after just one session, her laser resurfacing treatment would clear 50-70% of my scar tissue. However, my mom chose to buy the 8 sessions package, which came down to $4000. Maybe the doctor is actually very good with her work, but she was not the one who treated me. Instead, this nurse did. The laser that was used was some sort of elos laser, which is mainly used for hair removal. She did a few passes over my face. My face felt pretty raw for the next few hours, and over the next few days, the skin on my face felt very tight. And then for the first time after stopping accutane, I started breaking out pretty badly.Over the next sessions, my nurse started feeling nervous about my breakouts and instead decided to do PRP/microneedling. I honestly believe that there was improvement, but it would have been much more noticeable in the hands of someone more experienced. When the nurse was drawing blood from me, she let the needle fall out of my arm.By my final session, I looked at my skin and felt just as unsatisfied as when I came in. The doctor claimed that I saw no improvement because I didn’t take care of my skin. Now, a few years later, I’ve moved to california mainly for the schools here and at the same time I’ve decided to search for more doctors as I have many more options here. I told the doctor I met up with today my past experience with treating scars, and he explained how they shouldn’t have tried to treat me until it was past 18 months of finishing my accutane course. He has recommended me PRP needling, in which I think will show better results with him. After asking him all the questions I had about my acne scars and the best way to treat them, I can’t help but feel that my previous dermatologists were incompetent, feeding me false information and throwing me into laser treatment without considering my skin type. I honestly just feel really cheated and like they just saw that I had acne scars, so they threw in the most expensive and ineffective treatment package at me.If anyone has experience with treating acne scars please pm me ):
