I’m a new sunscreen convert, and have made a habit of buying almost any sunscreen when it’s on sale. I use mineral sunscreens heavily in the summer. I have used Honest for the past year, and recently had bought Cerave mineral face sunscreen on clearance.You hear a lot of negativity with the Cerave 50SPF sunscreen, and I thought I would share why for anyone curious or about to shop for sunscreen.Cerave vs Honest Sunscreen White Cast ComparisonThe first photo shows Honest on the right (your left) side, and my skin tone on the left (your right). This is natural light.The second photo shows Cerave. I cleaned a line down the middle so you can see my skin tone.The third picture is a close up of Cerave. Despite the packaging, this is not lightweight. This streaks and becomes hard to blend. I stopped because I felt I was becoming too rough for my skin.The fourth photo shows a close up of the Honest — the light captures the white cast quite a bit, but even still you can see the Honest brand is still not as bad and spread way more evenly and with less streaks.For me, the winner is Honest. The general, family friendly kind. It retails for under $10 online and in stores (Target).Cerave will be used (I have three bottles!) but for at home gardening and swimming use. It’s just really not great. It retails for around $15.The white cast’s are still strong BUT I feel you’ll get that with most mineral sunscreens. Save your money and try out Honest if you’re wanting to purchase Cerave 50SPF sunscreen. (I’m sure there are better ones out there, but I haven’t tried them all out and Honest is one of the cheaper ones.)Thought I would share!
