Beauty Tips For Body Care
BCC operationHi all. Before I say anything let me say I WORE SUNSCREEN EVERYDAY I’m an English girl living in Australia. Also I wear sunglasses every day and I think that wiping the sweat on hot days away from the area so they didn’t slide might have contributed to the problem. I recently saw a post about someone getting a Basal Cell Carcinoma and that it looks just like a pimple that won’t go away. This is so true. If I hadn’t asked my doctor about this little thing on the side of my nose I would be in a hell of a lot of trouble right now. I had a pimple a few years ago on the side of my nose and I would pop it and it would go away only to come back. Well I went and had it biopsied and it was a BCC.So fast forward to my going in to surgery to have it removed. It was a strange experience. They gave me a pill to relax me but did not put me under, just injected my face to numb the area. So I was awake the entire time. The staff and surgeon were lovely. They were very mindful that in my mid 30s I was quite young to have this so deeply. They took as much as they could but bandaged me up and left me for a couple of hours to sit and wait to see if they had it all, as I said they wanted the scarring as minimal as possible due to my age. Unfortunately they needed to go back in and get more out. Apparently it acts like a plant. It’s small on the outside but it has roots that spread underneath that you cannot see until you investigate. So that’s that ! I have a scar now that everyone says isn’t that visible but it is. I have a sort of divot on the side of my nose and it’s a pinker colour. And I have a white line that runs in line with my smile line.Like I said the surgeon was great and really tried to make the scarring as good as possible. I went in for a scar revision a month or two later because the scar was puckering and getting tight.I might have further work done down the line but with 3 kids that’s on the back burner ! This isn’t a poor me feel sorry for me post, I am fine but I do want people to realize how important sunscreen is. Wear it everyday. Nobody needs this shit. I was lucky.
