[misc] My dairy intolerance/allergy went away after 7+ years!

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi guys. So I know this is a super touchy subject in this sub, so anyone can take this however they like , but this is my story. It’s long, tldr at bottom. When I was about 23/24 (I’m 31 now) I started getting horrible cystic acne out of nowhere on my chin and forehead. I did all the usual rx meds (short of accutane) but nothing seemed to help. After a few years and 3 years straight on doxycycline (which permanently destroyed my stomach) I did quite a bit of research that led me to believe I may have an allergy or intolerance to dairy. I stopped eating it as much as possible (with the exception of butter) and it seemed to get better, though not gone.I went to a new derm and she confirmed that dairy does often cause cystic acne in some people, so if I felt it was working for me to continue not eating it. I went on BC and she gave me a few different rx topicals to try and I went on my way. Here I am now, at 31 and my skin is better than its ever been. I haven’t had a pimple in months due to a great routine (I stopped all the rx meds thanks to this sub, you guys have taught me SO MUCH) and being incredibly diligent about it morning and night. But my diet hasn’t been amazing. My weakness is white cheddar popcorn. You know the one - the black bag. A few months ago I started eating it again because I’ve been stressed out at work and just wanted a comfort snack and I don’t like chips or candy. And nothing happened. I thought “oh, it’s just because it’s processed dust. It’s not real cheese.”So I’ve been wanting to test my theory. This week I ordered a pizza. I ate the whole thing in one night. Alone. It was the most delicious food I’ve eaten in my whole life. NO PIMPLES. So then later in the week I ate a carbonara. NO PIMPLES. Before when I used to eat anything with cheese or cream or milk I would get a massive cystic break out the next morning. And here I am a week later. Clear skin.I’m still waiting every morning for a breakout. But all I’m saying is if you have a dairy issue, give it time. My derm initially told me it was an allergy that presented later in life. And sometimes allergies can reset themselves. And that’s what happened to me, I guess. I’m so over the moon because these past 7 years without cheese have been so sad living in a big Italian family. But now I’m going to make up for lost time.TLDR: anytime I ate dairy for 7 years I got pimples. It seemed to have gone away finally. If you have an issue with dairy, hold on because it may work it self out for you like it did for me.
