[skin concerns] how do people keep their underarms white or prevent it from getting dark?

I badly need answers for this! I don’t know what works anymore. Some people say to wax it, some don’t. Some say to shave it, some don’t. I’ve tried to do all those but none of them work for me. I have these small bumps that looks like ingrown hairs or maybe those are ingrown hairs but i don’t really know. I’m really feeling insecure about this because of how some people could raise their arms without having to worry about having dark pits. Any advice pls??
