[Acne] [Skin Concerns] [Review] 🙏Niacinamide🙏

Beauty Tips For Body Care
So to start off, I've never had terrible acne. I did my time during my teen years with a stubborn colony of small white heads trying to manifest destiny all around my face. However, considering normal teenage hormones, I never had any severe issues. I did pick at them, and I have a small amount of scarring but nothing very noticeable. Basically, I wasn't blessed with amazing skin genes but I definitely have a lot to be grateful for. I should also add that my skin in quite thin and I blush like a tomato with the smallest gust of wind. I've had one doctor say the pale, thin, and red skin was due to "french skin" once (my mother is french and my dad's ancestors are). I wouldn't be surprised if I had rosacea or something similar, but since my life generally isn't too affected, I haven't felt the need to see a dermatologist. Now as a semi-adult (22F) , I still get bumps now and again. Nowadays, I get white heads on my chin which used to be the only place that remained clear during my teen years. I have become increasingly anal about skincare (especially sunscreen) and serums. I've tried a bunch of fad serums after looking everything up on pubmed (I have a science background) to try to discern between scientifically backed products and some less reputable ones. Now the good stuff: I ordered the 7% glycolic acid toner and the 10% niacinamide serum (also has 1% zinc) from the Ordinary via amazon. I know it's bad science to add to products in at the same time but patience is not my thing so here we are. The toner was drying out my skin quite a bit while the serum only mildly irritated it. Using both with a super super delicate face wash and a lot of moisturizer really helped clear up my skin and make it appear more healthy! Having spent my teen years coating every pimple in layers upon layers of acidic salicylic acid spot treatment (I know!) my brain still subconsciously equates good skincare with that familiar burning sensation. So when I ran out of the niacinamide treatment, I wasn't concerned as I assumed the glycolic acid was the heavy hitter. The pimples immediately came back and after a few weeks, I waived a white flag and ordered more niacinamide serum (and some hyaluronic acid). In a few short weeks, my skin has cleared up immensely and I think my skin has a slightly more glowy quality. The serum also dries my skin out waaaaay less than other acne fighting substances. Honestly it's amazing!Tl;Dr: I may be late to the game, but my super sensitive skin loves niacinamide and I would recommend trying it to anyone who has white heads/annoying bumps and skin on the more sensitive end of the spectrum (with a good moisturizer of course!).
