Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi ScA! This is my 1st post here ever. I created this account just to share my story as I think it could help anyone that may be struggling as I have been for the past decade. (btw apologies for my English).(Intro) My skin never gave me huge problems in childhood and teenage years, I had beautiful, glowy skin (occasional pimple) all my life until I turned 22 years old. I developed adult acne (face and back), my skin became oily, rough and dull. I had trouble with PIH and visited dermatologists many times trying to heal my skin. I was prescribed everything - at first the more traditional acne treatments: salicylic acid, BP, harsh cleansers to fight my oiliness. This regimen did not solve the issue, and I was put into oral isotretinoin/Accutane for 2 years. My skin turned AMAZING, the skin of my dreams. But the side effects were too much for me, and I quit after 2 years. At first I was stable (for about 1 year), but my skin worsened and I developed problems again. But different problems. I had pimples, bumps, and texture. But now my skin was no longer oily and became SUPER sensitive, allergic and red. I was later diagnosed with Rosacea with 28 years old. I struggled for the past 5 years to find a routine that works for me, products that won't flare me up and that I actually enjoy using. That is what I wanted to share with my fellow rosacea/sensitive friends here(Current Routine) I am 33, have been living with rosacea for 5 years now. I tried many things, received good and bad advice from dermatologists and made some mistakes on the way. I am so happy to say that for the past 6 months I FINALLY figured out how to keep my skin under control, looking and feeling healthy. Mild redness is still here (I have visible/broken capillaries) but my skin is smooth, soft, supple and no more pimples or bumps. This involves skincare and lifestyle changes I did:Skincare - I stick to a very simple yet effective routine:AMSplash face with waterSqualane Oil (TO) - Apply 3-5 drops to wet skinBioderma Sensibio ARSunscreenAbout Sunscreen: I tried everything, believe me. Spent a lot of money over the years trying to find a sunscreen that won't irritate my face or break me out, and that looks good/works under makeup. Still trying to find a HG sunscreen.ISDIN Fusion Fluid Mineral SPF 50+ - not good aesthetics but is gentle, safe and comfy. I use this when I'm homeSkinceuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50 - okayish, at least does not irritate my face. I find this a bit oily, feels uncomfortableMake P:REM UV Defense Sun Cream SPF 50+ PA++++ - I use this when I want to wear makeup on top (have to go heavy on moisturizer if using this)PMOil to remove makeup/sunscreen - Organic Jojoba, Rosehip (I alternate) - Gently massage for 1 minuteBioderma Sensibio Gel Moussant - Wash face and neck with warm water, gently massagingSqualane Oil (TO) - Apply 3-5 drops to wet skin - wait 10 minAzelaic Acid Gel 150mg - Appy to dry face, wait 20 minutesBioderma Sensibio AR (if skin is normal) OR Bioderma Cicabio Cream (if skin is looking more irritated)LifestyleTake Omega 3 supplementsReduced my sugar intake - not a diet or anything but I try to avoid sugar from Mon-FriNo alcohol - exceptions on special occasions but I know I'll have problems for a few days after intakeDrink lots of liquids - water, green tea, black tea, and ginger teaStress Management - Stress is a huge trigger for me.
