[personal] “I stopped my skincare routine and my skin improved”: a myth, an experience.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I’m sure we’ve all seen posts about how someone dropped their skincare routine altogether and claimed their skin improved. I tried this. Not so much to try it but out of laziness, frustration, what have you.I am 29 F, I struggle with hormonal acne on my chin as well as blackheads in the same area. My skin has responded well to treating for fungal acne, so that may or may not be mixed in there as well. Lately (last 6 months or so), I’ve been really happy with my progress. Skin is much clearer than it used to be. Far less breakouts, still dealing with blackheads and PIE.A couple weeks ago I dropped pretty much all products. I only washed my face as I felt like it. Maybe once every two days. I would always moisturize after but that’s about it. Skipped the sunscreen, skipped the curology, no retinoids, no AHA. I also stopped drinking matcha regularly, stopped my probiotics and my Vitamin D.First couple weeks I didn’t notice any difference. I still had pretty clear skin. Then last week I got my period and my face exploded with a FURY I have not seen the likes of in probably a year. Pimples everywhere. Strangely enough, my cramps weren’t bad at all, and my bleeding was minimal. So for the most part, my period was far more comfortable than normal, except my face blew tf up.So in conclusion, I’m back on the wagon and if the “caveman routine” works for you more power to you but I’m gonna go cradle my sulfur mask, my curology, and my AHA peel pads.
