Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello! You have all scared me into sunscreen obsession. It’s been around 8 months since I started my search. Here are my reviews and thoughts. I am a tan beige skin tone, with dehydrated combination skin. Therefore I will mention white cast, matte vs. shiny, and drying effects. I do not wear makeup so I can’t comment on that.Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish SPF 50: this sunscreen is still in my cosmetic bag. I wear it from time to time if I want to look very matte, and a bit like I have makeup on, because it evens out the skin tone. This sunscreen gives me a white cast that varies based on how hard I try to blend it, so I don’t like it for everyday use. It is also drying, which I find is worse as I use it for more days in a row. It can pill, so I like using an oil to combat the drying effect rather than tons of moisturizer. It smells citrusy and has a very thin and watery texture. Stays on extremely well throughout the day and remains matte.Drunk Elephant Umbra Sheer SPF 50: this sunscreen just... meh. It was the very first one I tried because I had a mini in my DE set. It’s thick, feels very noticeable and heavy, and leaves a slight white caste. Did not even finish my mini size.Dear Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence SPF 50: I really enjoyed this sunscreen, but it unfortunately gave me itchy hives. Though, it was pleasant to wear and disappeared immediately, I wanted very much to find a similar sunscreen that would not give me hives. It does have a slight sheen, not matte but not greasy.Purito Centella Green Level Safe Sunscreen SPF 50: This sunscreen was meant to replace my Klairs sunscreen, but unfortunately ALSO gave me itchy hives. sigh similarly lovely texture and wear as the Dear Klairs. I think it’s slightly more on the shiny side, and the two have different scents. I prefer the scent of the Dear Klairs.Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40: I really enjoyed this sunscreen. First of all, it’s clear which is lovely for white cast. It leaves behind a skin-like finish. This one unfortunately made me break out, but may not do so for you.Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch SPF 55: this is a Helioplex technology sunscreen. I really enjoyed this sunscreen at first, but I eventually noticed a white cast, and a bit of stinging. The white cast becomes more noticeable if you sweat, which is inconvenient since you could just turn white in the middle of the day. I use this on my neck, décolletage, and hands mostly now but will still wear it on my face from time to time.Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield SPF 50: This sunscreen is very similar to Supergoop Unseen, it is clear and has a very similar texture. I would say this one dries down to a less shiny and more “blurred” finish as the name suggests. It is lovely, luxurious. However it’s incredibly expensive!!! My mom bought this on my recommendation after I tried it in the store, and it gave her some irritation so she gave it to me. I use it when I’m feeling fancy.A’PIEU Soo Boo Ji Sun Cotton SPF 50: Congrats, you’ve made it to my HG by reading this far!!! This sunscreen was such a breath of fresh air. It melts into the skin just like Dear Klairs, and Purito, except it is even less shiny. It smells the most pleasant out of all of them in my opinion. It doesn’t make me break out, or give me hives, or make me white, or pill on top of my moisturizer, or anything like that. The protection is definitely solid, as I haven’t gotten much of a tan. I will probably keep ordering this, it’s very affordable around $15 with international shipping, but it takes a while to arrive. I highly recommend this sunscreen!!! I have rarely ever seen it recommended so I hope you will try it out.Lastly, I keep a stick of Baby Bum Mineral Sunscreen Stick SPF 50 in my purse and use it on the backs of my hands and sometimes on my face in a pinch. It’s quite white, but it’s not very noticeable on the hands after blending. It’s good for non greasy hand protection on the go/after washing hands etc.Whew, think I got them all!!! Have a nice day folks.
