[Routine Help] What is the point of using a pH balanced cleanser if we are going to use pH "imbalanced" products (Vit C, glycolic acid, etc) minutes later?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Title says it all. Not sure what the answer is but my guess is this - I understand that the pH of skin is mildly acidic. And I'm aware that lots of standard soaps skew basic. So it seems like the idea is to just to avoid high pH products on the whole...and buying "pH balanced" cleansers is one way to accomplish that? Bc tbh it seems like the pH balance craze is a little...crazy. After all, water is technically imbalanced (compared to skin) at 7, but I don't think anyone would claim that rinsing your face with water is unhealthy just because its pH doesn't match our skin. Thoughts?
