Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've been doing research into the various active ingredients in skincare as I try to learn more about what to buy. My skin is combination and prone to cystic acne. It's winter now and my skin feels drier than it's ever been. The brick-wall I keep coming up against is discerning which research is backup up by independent studies and which is just in-house research.I'd love to hear if I'm on the right path. These are the ingredients I'm curious to know more about:Peptides: (Matrixyl, Argireline, Copper) Are these proven? I read Matrixyl is only backed up by in-house company research, but what about the others?Copper: It seems like there are mixed reviews on whether this is harmful or helpful, what's the verdict?Retinoid: Retinol has a lot of research to back it up, but what about retnoids?Ceramides: Saw that post about this being mostly marketing, unless the products have 3:1:1 (Ceramide 3, Cholesterol, Fatty Acids). Zeroid, Illiyoon & Real Barrier were recommended. Did anyone incorporate these into their routine? Any reviews?Caffeine: inhibiting collagen production - is this a myth or true? What science backs this up?L-Ascorbic Acid: seems like a trusted ingredient, but not in powder form (bc science). So what is the best method of using LAA?Niacinamide: This is trusted, yeah? But is it true it might enhance hair growth? My facial hair does seem thicker since using it. If so, what's an alternative to get the benefits of Niacinamide?Collagen: What ingredients are proven to inhibit collagen production? This topic is one that confuses me a lot so ELI5 pls?
