Beauty Tips For Body Care
Background (skip to next paragraph if uninterested): I have had acne issues ever since high school. I was prescribed a topical treatment and told to wash my face before applying (twice a day). It slight lessened my acne and made my face more dry. It went on for a while okay. I’ve had more issues with eczema, but my dermatologist gave me a eczema cream that pretty much keeps things at bay. Recently I experienced, what I like to call, “The Great Dryness”. A few weeks ago I had horrible dry skin. My skin was painful, tight, and flaking off all day. I didn’t even have a moisturizer in my routine before the dryness issues, because apparently I am an idiot. I bought some random one I used to use in high school. Still, no lotion or eczema cream helped. It all burned. I stopped my entire skin care routine a few nights. Finally, the great dryness calmed down. Phew. Now, I want to prevent that from happening again. I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of my acne, but I think severely dry skin is pretty avoidable for me. So, I started doing more research about skincare. I think I need to improve my skincare routine. My long-time face wash might have been hurting me all this time. It leaves my skin feeling tight and “squeaky clean”, which apparently is not supposed to happen. I always thought that’s how it was supposed feel... oops. In fact, my skin doesn’t really feel oily at all (except around a certain time of month when my hormonal acne regenerates). Most of the time, it’s been feeling a little dry. Also, I don’t have a good moisturizer, my skin still feels dry after I use it. I’ve looked for good cleansers and moisturizer for acne prone skin, but most of them have benzoyl peroxide or acids and stuff, and I don’t need anymore of that in my routine; I need some good, clean moisture.I think my cleanser is harsh and my moisturizer ineffective. Any recommendations? My morning routine: -Wash face with Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser -Prescribed acne topical medication for morning (Dapsone) -Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer (if feeling dry) -prescribed eczema cream (if feeling itchy)My night routine: -Wash face with Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser -Prescribed acne topical medication for night (epiduo forte) -Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer (if feeling dry) -prescribed eczema cream (if feeling itchy)TLDR: I have combination, acne prone skin (I think). Any recommendations for a gentle, effective cleanser and a strong moisturizer that won’t clog pores?
