[misc] Essential Oils Rant

Beauty Tips For Body Care
My routine is very simple: First Aid Beauty cleanser, Formula 10.0.6 Thirst No More moisturizer every am and pm, pm Curology cream (Niacinamide 4%, Clindamycin 1%, Azelaic Acid 8%) and zinc soap 2x a week. Slow slow results with acne, but great change in controlled oil production and a newfound brightness. We’re getting there, slowly.Been slowly getting results from my new routine at the start of this year. My sister is very into essential oils but doesn’t have a skincare routine at all. She changes cleansers to whatever is trendy, doesn’t use the right moisturizer for her skin and sometimes doesn’t even wash her makeup off at the end of the day. Don’t get me wrong, I like essential oils for some things like some headaches, diffusing for fragrance and I genuinely like essential oils for occasionally but not 24/7.When it comes to my face, I don’t want to put essential oils on it. She comments on how my skin looks better than a couple of months ago (yay, not just me noticing). When I told her that my acne is hormonal, she said I should go in and get my hormones tested because with hormonal acne it’s not just about what you put on your face, it’s your hormone balance (okay, fair). But before she even finishes that sentence she’s blabbing about how good essential oils are for your face and acne and telling me she’s going to give me an essential oil moisturizer to help with acne. Essential oils are not the dang cure-all for your problems! No shame for those that essential oils actually works for, I’m glad that it works for you and it seems to be working for my sister I guess? Her skin isn’t horrible but I just can’t stand people pushing their essential oil bs onto me. Rant over.
