Beauty Tips For Body Care
Not a PSA or anything but its just something that i stand by.I know we all love a good deal always and skincare can be pricey for some of us. Especially when its a cult favourite and its hard to get our hands on them. One item that I notice that is especially "risky" to unsuspecting new users is the Asian Beauty cult favourite; the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence that comes in a blue tube.I myself have used many tubes of this and am familiar with the texture and smell of this sunscreen. I was on a popular local online shopping platform and i noticed that this item was on half-price sale; the listing price was probably 7usd or so and this particular listing has already sold 2000ish tubs. (i just checked again, it was listed for 3usd after a 50% discount). For one, the undiscounted price is alot lower than in shops here locally. Each tube retails for almost twice the price without a discount at Watsons or Guardian in Singapore but if you were to cross into the neighbouring country, indeed you can get it for 7usd at Watsons too which i have before. However besides that listing on that local shopping platform, I havent really seen an online store selling the Biore UV at that low price. So being the skeptic that I am, i decided to sift through the review section. Most of them were 5 star positive reviews from new users. but out of the few hundred reviews on that product listing, i could see that some of buyers that had tried the original product prior to buying this fake could tell this listing was for a fake item. They mentioned the packing of the item was a bit off (though it was really similar to the original one), the texture was like a moisturiser instead of a light yellow gel consistency and it smelled off. and these users had rated this product a one -star. which werent many in this listing. means that probably many new users are using this fake product for the first time!! and had no idea!!What was alarming that even though some users reported that this item was fake, no one reported the listing (if they did, the platform would probably have taken down the listing) or it continued to exist. I hope someone did as using counterfeit skincare/makeup products are quite dangerous. I watched a youtube documentary and they found that counterfeit makeup/skincare products can contain mercury, lead, human fecal matters and urine and lotsa unknown stuff not safe for use.I think the most susceptible ones are the new users that do not have a point of reference or comparison. i have since reported the listing and i really hope they will take it down.Personally I tend to buy from authorized retailers and reputable shops only. I avoid places like Ebay and Amazon unless they have been recognized officially on these platforms. and also i avoid items that do not come from an established brands.I was scouring ebay, aliexpress and also the same local shopping platform and I found makeup products for less than 3usd that originate from China and without proper brand names. I'm very dubious of their composition and ingredients and one user even said it smelled like chemicals only!!I know its cheap and all but for the sake of your own health it would be best to avoid unknown brands and purchase from reputable places. I hope you guys can take this little piece of advice into consideration when making your next purchase and is feeling unsure of the origins.I hope this is helpful!Stay safe guys.
