[Personal] I had the right products all along, I just wasn’t using them right

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I can’t believe it took me almost a year with a consistent routine to realize that I wasn’t using my products in the right way for my skin.I was using Cerave baby cream too often (I used it morning and night over my whole face). It was clogging my pores to the point where my nose looked like a strawberry and my forehead was always oily and clogged. Once I cut down to a VERY thin layer once nightly, it was the perfect balance—moisturized skin without the clogs. My nose pores were no longer overflowing with sebum and neither were my forehead pores, which really really helped smooth out the overall texture of my skin.Second, I’d been mixing squalane oil with moisturizer all this time because that’s how everyone in this sub said to do it, but I had never tried squalane on its own to moisturize. BUT IT IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, especially for fungal acne sufferers! This is my HG. I put a few drops on my hand, apply it to my forehead and nose, and hold my fingers down for a few seconds to warm the oil and help it absorb better. I have noticed a huge difference. My skin is balanced rather than oily, smooth rather than clogged and textured, and best of all it is totally safe for fungal acne.If I use too much squalane I can get sebum clogs or a pimple occasionally so I’m careful to only use maybe 2-4 drops over my whole face.I put my routine down below for anyone who’s interested. My skin type is combination oily, dehydration & fungal acne prone. My routine is super bare bones now bc I‘ve found I only need these products to maintain my skin.AM:Purito Low pH Defence Barrier CleanserIsntree Hyaluronic Acid TonerTimeless Squalane Oil (~2 drops)A’pieu Soobooji Sun Cotton SPFPM:Johnson’s Baby Oil (the pink one, it’s basically pure mineral oil with fragrance. while fragrance isn’t ideal, it’s super cheap and I can use it very generously so it’s good. I take great pleasure in cleansing the grits out of my face every night.)Purito CleanserIsntree Hyaluronic AcidCerave Baby Moisturizing Cream (one small squirt, I evenly distribute it across my fingers and swipe once across my skin. apply very thinly to avoid clogs!)Timeless Squalane OilThe Ordinary Azelaic Acid (spot treatment, it works great for my bacterial pimples or any inflammation)
