Beauty Tips For Body Care
Dermol 500 is a light emollient lotion with added chlorhexidine (an antibacterial agent). It is the standard emollient prescribed by the NHS in the UK for a range of skin complaints, such as acne, mild eczema / dermatitis, sensitive skin, folliculitis, etc. It is also available over the counter at most chemists. The addition of chlorhexidine helps to reduce bacterial load on the skin, which is why it is good for infections such as bacterial acne or folliculitis. Its a super light lotion and absorbs very quickly, so those with drier skin types might find they need to add a heavier cream on top. However, due to the antimicrobial properties, it can also be used as a face wash or body wash (similar to Cetaphil / CeraVe hydrating cleansers, but better in my opinion!).It comes in a huge 500ml tub with a pump, and in the UK it costs around £10 and lasts for months on end.I have combo-oily skin which is prone to breakouts, texture, sensitivity, large pores. I'm a regular user of Glycolic Acid toner and AHA/BHA Peel from TO which also can make my skin more sensitive. Occasionally I use Epiduo to help tame my acne when things are bad, and it leaves my skin dry, peeling and super sensitive if I over-do it.When I have a sensitivity reaction (I like to call it shedding snake skin) the ONLY moisturiser / cleanser that doesn't sting my skin and helps to keep it clear is Dermol 500. Even E45 and Aveeno burns my face when it's sensitive, but Dermol 500 has never failed me. I've always had a tub in my bedroom for about 3 years now - I can't live without it.Anyone here who likes the non-foaming hydrating cleansers made by Cetaphil / CeraVe, give Dermol 500 a go - and you'll be killing two birds with one stone because you can also use it as your daily moisturiser too!
