Beauty Tips For Body Care
It seems like 1-2 years ago, I saw Stratia Liquid Gold everywhere on this sub. Now, it's hardly ever mentioned! Hopefully this review will introduce new members to an old favorite, since their end of November/Black Friday sale just started. Background info:I have combination/oily, acne prone skin that is prone to dehydration. My current routine is:Morning:Rinse with waterNeutrogena dry touch SPF 100+Evening:La Roche-Posay Hydrating Gentle CleanserStridex red box (4x/week)Stratia Liquid GoldCerave Moisturizing CreamReview:So far, I've been using Liquid Gold for about 5 days. It's packaged in an airless pump bottle, which I appreciate, and it has a light smell that reminds me of olive oil. This stuff is YELLOW! However, I have pretty fair skin and I don't notice it on my skin. It rubs in quickly and dries down without a greasy finish. It contains the optimal ratio of ceramides, a blend of oils (including sea buckthorn oil, which gives it the distinctive color), and niacinamide. It is known for repairing the moisture barrier. It also shipped the same day I ordered it, which was awesome. Thanks Alli! The best way to describe how my skin feels when I use Liquid Gold is calm. It has not broken me out at all, which is a minor miracle considering that half the things I try break me out (I'm living proof that the Purito unscented sunscreen does not work for everyone). I do feel a mild tingle from the niacinamide, which is normal for me, but I don't get any irritation or flushing. I started using Liquid Gold during a hormonal breakout and it has calmed down the existing acne I had. My skin also feels super soft after I use it.The downside is that Liquid Gold is not quite occlusive enough for my dehydration-prone forehead. When I use it alone at night, I wake up with some dryness and flaking. I remedy this by putting my old Cerave moisturizing cream on top of Liquid Gold. Sometimes if I'm feeling wild, I'll seal it all in with vaseline. Ooh boy. This combo lets me wake up slimy and hydrated (a personal goal, although I realize that may not apply to everyone). I look forward to seeing if the niacinamide helps even my skin tone over the next few months. It already seems to be limiting my oil production, which was unexpected for a moisturizer but appreciated nonetheless. I'm glad that my skin likes this niacinamide product better than the one from The Ordinary, which broke me out a bit.TL;DRStratia Liquid Gold is an oldie but a goodie. It is calming and hydrating, but a bit too light on its own for drier skin. I would recommend it for people with oily and dehydration prone skin, and for people who intend to layer it with other moisturizing products.
