[Misc] I scar easily, and here’s what I learned after a major injury that changed how I look at that.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I’ve always scared easily on my body, and any cut, bug bite, or scrape would leave some type of mark. I was never that sensitive about it, but then I had an kitchen accident and did not want that to scar. In the process of my research and doctors visits I realized that preventing my skin from scarring was not as hard as I thought. Here are the steps I now follow:1) When the injury happens wash it off with water. If it’s a burn, run it under cool, not cold water, for 20 minutes. You know how they say a steak cooks after you take it off the stove - your skin is the same after a burn unless you stop it. Alcohol is not needed and can be damaging unless you absolutely know it’s already infected. 2) While it’s healing, put a thin layer of bacitracin (not neosporin, which could also irritate it) on one or two times a day. Let it dry. You want to create a moist environment - but not a wet one. For larger injuries cover it with a band aid or not-tight gauze and bandage. Make sure the wound is as dry as reasonable when you cover it, and air it out from when you’re changing the bandage. For smaller injuries, you can put a thin layer of Vaseline on top to cover it. 3) When it’s more healed (looks like skin not an open wound) you can stop applying bacitracin to it. Use unscented plain lotion on it (Vaseline, lubriderm, cetaphil, etc). Don’t use vitamin E as that has not been shown to help wound healing and could irritate it. Massage a thin layer of the lotion in. Let it dry completely. Follow with a thin layer of sunscreen. 4) For larger injuries or if you are prone to keloids, I would recommend silicon gel such as biocorneum. Follow the instructions on the box carefully. If you do not use the silicon gel, a thin layer of Vaseline here will help prevent the wound from being over exposed to the air and reduce scarringNow I am not a doctor, and I definitely did not explain this in a medical way. These are just some rules of thumb I use. This also may work better or worse depending on the person, but I wanted to emphasize what the actual principles you’re trying to follow are, and that they can be done with simple products. Keep it moisturized and protected, and use sunscreen!
