Beauty Tips For Body Care
I’ve just decided that I don’t like the term “anti-aging”.My personal skincare routine is very focussed on what the skincare industry deems as “anti-aging”: retinol, vitamin C, SPF 50, the lot. But I’m not “anti” aging. In fact, I can’t wait to see what my older self looks like, and what lines she would have earned by living a full life. But at the same time I don’t want to age in a way that stresses and overwhelms my skin. So if there’s any way I can prevent the most serious and preventable environmental and UV damage and keep my skin healthy for the foreseeable future, then I’m all for it. And this, of course, goes hand in hand with living a vibrant and unbridled life, eating and sleeping well, regular exercise and plenty of water intake. Is it really anti-aging to want to age as healthily as possible, devoid of preventable stressors to the skin?By living well and using a regular “anti-aging” routine, you’re not delaying aging. You’re just not quickening it.Maybe we should be thinking about reframing our perspective on anti-aging skincare. Maybe we should be labelling it “kind aging” instead. Or “happy aging”.What’s your happy aging routine?
