I'm usually a lurker, but I thought I'd share my empties from 2020.Big takeaways:It looks like I used too many products, especially with the actives. I'm going to be much more selective in 2021.I moisturized a lot. I've got the highest dosage available for tretinoin with Curology, so I was constantly moisturizing. That'll continue into 2021.My sunscreens from 2020 look much more different than usual; I stuck with "cosmetically elegant" products this year more so than my hardy usuals since I'm indoors. A few of my empties included some controversial products from this year (ahempuritoahem).Mini reviews for cleansers, toners, and sunscreens...I've got actives, moisturizers, haircare, body-care, and other miscellaneous (eyes, lips) products I can do a mini review on if people are interested.Cleansers & TonersLRP Purifying Foaming Cleanser: I liked it before I went up on my tretinoin prescription strength. Now I use Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser Sensitive.Caudalie Micellar Water: Nothing remarkable. Can find cheaper, equivalent alternative. Will not repurchase.Biossance Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil: I use this to take of layers of sunscreen without irritating my skin. Will repurchase.Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Water: Better price point than Caudalie. Nice in the morning to get some of the tretinoin flakes off without irritation. Will repurchase.Origins Modern Friction: I got it as a sample and used it on my hands instead of my face. It was a nice mini spa treatment for my hands, but I wouldn't get it again.CosRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin: I bought this after lurking. Did nothing for me. I didn't like the consistency, and it left my skin tacky instead of feeling hydrated. Will not repurchase.Real Barrier Extreme Essence Toner: HG toner. It absorbs quickly. It's got 5 different types of hyaluronic acid. It's got calming ingredients (e.g., panthenol, allantoin) for when my face gets angry.Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner: Another purchase after reddit lurking. Not sure if this made any difference, and I couldn't stand the smell. Will not repurchase.SunscreenKlairs Soft Airy Everyday Sun Protection: Easy to apply on days I had flakes from tretinoin. It was too thin for my taste, so I felt like I needed to layer multiple times to feel like I'm protected. Will not repurchase.Biore UV Aqua Rich: I don't like heavily scented products, but this one, I didn't mind as much. It was especially nice to start with a zing in the summer. Every time I applied it, though, my skin would feel cool (like the way you eat a peppermint candy) for 5 minutes, which I didn't like. Will not repurchase.Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery: Thick and creamy but absorbed well. It wasn't too difficult to pat it all in. I'll consider purchasing a larger one for 2021.Hyggee Relief Sun Moisturizer: Near HG (because I've not had many opportunities to go outside this year to see if this is a decent enough outside sunscreen). It's thick, but not too thick; it's not very scented; it's hydrating; it absorbs well.Cell Fusion C Laser Sunscreen 100: Left the most white cast out of everything used. Despite that, I didn't really mind it; I took it as an opportunity to massage it into my face, and it was pretty good. It was fairly moisturizing, too. Will repurchase.Biore UV Mild Care Milk: This one is lower in SPF than UV Aqua Rich, but I liked that it felt more like a lotion than a gel. I didn't like that it's too runny for my preference. Will not repurchase.Cell Fusion C Cure Sunscreen 100 Post a: This one smelled like a pool house and left my skin burning. Nope. Will not repurchase.Purito Centella Green Level Safe Sun: It was good until it wasn't. I finished it after the news broke (that their SPF level is lower than they're claiming) as a, "near-the-end-of-my-indoor-work-day" sunscreen. Will not repurchase.Self-care turned excessive in 2020
