Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi there! I posted a picture a few weeks ago of a bunch of sunscreen samples my Dermatologist gave me. I have a very clear winner.... but here are my thoughts on all the products!I've had a lot of issues in the past with sunscreen burning my skin. Through testing these products I've realized that it is an issue with chemical sunscreens. I personally need to wear mineral sunscreen because of my sensitive skin. This eliminated the following from my trial:La Roche Posay Melt-In Milk 60 & 100La Roche Posay Anthelios Kids SPF 60La Roche Posay Anthelios 60La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Mositurizer SPF 30Cerave Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30 & 50Okay, now to the mineral sunscreens:La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral SPF 50 Tinted - I liked the finish of this product and it didn't burn my skin, but it was too warm for me. I have fairly light / cool toned skin so even with foundation underneath this turned me orange.Cerave Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion Mineral - Although this wasn't a bad option I didn't like the finish on my skin. I have very dry skin but this left me a little oily and didn't sink in very well. My makeup didn't wear as well either, by the end of the day I felt like it had all worn off. If I wasn't wearing any makeup this would be a fine option. There was a slight white cast but again I am pretty fair so it didn't bother me.AND THE WINNER!My favorite sunscreen by far was La Roche Posay Anthelios Mineral SPF 50. This leaves my skin velvety soft and sinks in beautifully. It acts as a great primer for my makeup and doesn't irritate my skin. It does have a bit of white cast when I first apply it but I rub it in really well and then let it sit for about 10-15 minutes before I move on to my makeup, and by that point I feel like it isn't noticeable anymore. I actually feel like this slightly helps with the redness in my skin. I actually look forward to wearing this product, which is great!I passed along this bag of goodies to a friend so she could try them out as well. She was previously using Cerave but was interested in trying out other options. If you have questions please let me know!
