Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've spent the last couple of weeks reading about skincare and products and, as a non-sciencey person, I'm feeling SO overwhelmed and confused by what I should and shouldn't do. Its also something that, to be honest, I don't particularly enjoy reading about - I just want to have nice skin!I'm 37, with two pre-schoolers (so, exhausted and with very little time to devote to hours of self-care), and have just moved next to the North Sea (air is very windy, cold and drying). I recently completely rejuvenated my hair by becoming a curly girl devotee and I want to try doing similar for my skin.My skin is always very dry and a little sensitive. I have large pores on my nose, and have always had big dark circles under my eyes where the skin feels very fragile. I suspect this is genetic and even as a kid I was told I lookied exhausted. Since pregnancy I have lots of skin tags that have grown round my eyes which I hate, and once Covid-19 is over I plan on going to a professional about.Ideally I'd like to a) get smooth, hydrated skin, b) prevent signs of aging and c) keep it generally healthy looking. My routine since forever has always been whatever cleanser is on offer, SPF moisturiser, and night cream. Eye cream if I remember. Drink water. That's it.A few people have recommended The Ordinary, but I tried the caffeine and it gave me dry, sore patches next to my eyes. I also tried Niacinamide and its left my cheeks red, tight and dry for hours after applying, even if I apply it as a drop mixed in with moisturiser. Though I did a patch test on my inner arm and that didn't react, so maybe it isn't that?Basically, I'm a skincare idiot and I have no idea.I'm feeling so overwhelmed by all the science and the products and... I could just do with being pointed in the right direction. Thanks!Edit: I am most definitely not pregnant.
