Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello! So my (23F) skin is quite acne-prone, has been ever since I was about 12. It’s gone through really bad patches (i mean really. Really bad, and I have bad scarring as a result). I have been on roacctuane (isotretinoin) twice, during high school. It was hell, and it helped a little bit but not completely. I still struggle with blackheads, whiteheads and comedomes, especially on my cheeks and jaw.I used to use products for oily/acne-prone skin, but I have found that they exacerbate the problem. I tried to use oil cleansing and I found that to help a little, although i glistened like a piece on bacon on hot days. I currently use products that hydrate my skin, and they seem to help as well. Now, I know what you’re thinking. Yes, I will pick my face and squeeze pimples daily (oof). It is a habit that I’ve been trying to beat for over a decade, and I’ve got a lot better at not doing it! However, my skin still breaks out regularly, and this drives my compulsion a lot. I know that I need to stop but it’s like an addiction, and I’m looking for ways to stop the pimples before they tempt me. This has left me with scarring that I believe is making my skin break out more. Don’t pick your skin, kids.I live in South Africa, so I know this might be limited in terms of products that can be recommended. I’m also looking for advice with stress, habit breaking, and diet. I am a vegetarian.Morning: wash with Neutrogena hydroboost and moisturise with a local SA brand with rooibos (mild, natural anti inflammatory) and SPF 25.Evening: wash with neutrogena hydroboost and moisturise with a very neutral cream recommended by my dermatologist, nutraderm. When I wear makeup, which is not often at all, I use bioderma hydrating makeup remover to wipe it off, and then cleanse and moisturise afterwards. When I have no pimples, and my skin is clean after cleansing, I will occasionally use BioOil to try and heal some of the scars. This will maybe be once a month. It’s scary putting oil on your face! Does it help? Or am I risking more breakouts? Please bear in mind that I am also a poor student. lol. Any advice is really appreciated. I’m kind of at my wits end.
