Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm long time lurker here. I’ve never posted anything but I‘ve got so exicited about removing my SF this week after years of trying different methods and failing to unclog my pores, that I want to share it with you.Sorry if this isn‘t something new, I've never came across any suggestion of using vaseline this way for removing SF or something that would remove them litteraly overnight. I tried hundreds of methods, but my stubborn pores never looked cleaner. I know about slugging, oil cleansing, salicylic acid, clay masks but they didn't help me much alone. Maybe my experience will help someone who is struggling. This is also safer way to remove them without demaging skin barrier, so win win. Before going to bed:I'm double cleansing with oil and then with gentle cleanser. I let oil sink in for 15 minutes. I do it everyday. It reduces appearence of SF, but it has never cleaned them completly.I apply leave-on salicylic acid. (yes, I know, this might seem as the hero of this method, but I found that, if I left it alone, It doesn't do anything for me unless I take step 3. It also works without it, but it’s not as effective) I usually let it sit for 20 minutes, then apply hydrating serum and moisturizer. Let it absorb.I then apply small amount of vaseline for my entire face and really thick layer on my T-zone where I have most sebaceous filaments. I found out that the amount of vaseline is really important. It needs to be thick layer (like I don’t see my skin under vaseline) otherwise, it doesn’t work for me. I don’t usually rub my nose on the pillows during sleep so it stays there till morning and I don’t care.In the morning, my SF are all gone unless I missed a spot where I didn’t apply enough vaseline. (When this happens I put kaolin mask to reduce those) I take a napking and gently tap on my nose to remove vaseline without rubbing my skin. I then wash my face with gentle cleanser again and continue with the rest of the morning routine.NOTES:My anecdodal experience is that, thin layer of vaseline helps to heal my skin barrier but thick layer works like oil cleanser, so it drags all my sebum away. This is great for SF but terrible for dry spots on the face. (I look really wrinkly afterwards)It also make salicylic acid stronger and helps it to penetrate deeper. So I don’t recommend using it with acid everyday. (I had really dry nose to the touch after week so I needed to stop and heal it) But it’s much more effective. I tried this method without it and it also works, but it doesn’t clean pores as deep. I want to try it with different acids, so far lactic acid wasn’t as effective, maybe azelaic?Unfortunately, this is for me only the best way for unclogging pores, but not preventing them for refilling. (it usually refills during day) So it’s just beginning of the journey to my clear nose. I’m just happy I found a way for me to at least finally clean them.Looking forward to hear your thoughts and suggestions. :-)
