Beauty Tips For Body Care
In light of all the sunscreen drama, and all kinds of sunscreen testing coming out showing SPF rankings below the listed amount, I just want to add one thing:I once read "the best sunscreen is the one you'll actually wear". This is huge. Consider this: you may have spent ages trying to find a sunscreen that you like, that doesn't break you out, that doesn't leave a white cast, etc. and you think you've found the one! And then you find that r/skincareaddiction has cancelled your new favorite sunscreen because the tested SPF doesn't match the marked SPF. Instead of never using that sunscreen again, maybe decide for yourself if the tested SPF can actually meet your needs too.For example, directly before I posted this, I saw another post on a cosrx sunscreen that was marketed as SPF 50 but is actually about 38. While that is a significant difference and the company is mismarketing their product, I personally would feel totally comfortable using an SPF 38 product on my face.Just my two cents, but I just don't want there to be a bunch of wasted product going around. I also don't want someone who has sensitive/reactive skin and struggles to find a suitable sunscreen that thinks they've found ~the one~ to give up on a product due to these "scandals".I want to make clear that I don't support companies' lying and mismarketing of their products. Especially those whose tested ratings are comically low, like SPF 7. However, sunscreen is a tough product to get right, and honestly, a score of SPF 38 in the grand scheme of things is not so bad.Just wanted to provide an alternative viewpoint amid the fear and mistrust going on. We are all just trying to be kind to our skin and ourselves :)
