Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have been living in France for a few years and have been contemplating getting tretinoin through various methods online (since all tret is prescription only and I've heard it's hard to be perscribed for cosmetic reasons). I finally worked up the courage to go into a cosmetic dermatologist to ask for it, since I'm scared to do anything illegal 🙃I go into the dermatologist and got seated down, I tell her I have concerns about my wrinkles and such. I then told her that I use retinaldehyde and would like something stronger, tret. She instantly whips out all of these expensive creams around the 100 euro mark and tells me that her 1% retinol is stronger than tret. 😳I was confused and wanted to be sure she was talking about retinol, not retinoic acid so I talked about the different conversions of retinol - retinaldehyde - retinoic acid and she had no idea what I was talking about (at this point I believe she wasn't a dermatologist, I think I got confused while booking because of the language barrier). She calls the maker of her cream and this person gives me a 10min talk about how her retinol is better than other retinols. I look in the ingredients list and it is indeed just retinol with fancy non active ingredients.I explained I was feeling uncomfortable and would like to be perscribed effederm (0.05% tret in france), she didn't know what that was and calls in an actual derm who said that their cream was more effective than efferderm, and that effederm is just for acne, but they can still perscribe it to me.I kid you not, I walk out of there with a 6 month perception of tret for 3 euros a tube. No questions asked. That was a really crazy experience, is this normal in Europe??
