[Product Question] Anyone experience issues buying rancid oils from The Ordinary?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I bought TO's Sea Buckthorn oil a few days ago online (along with my other favourites and HGs I couldn't live without), and I was most excited to try the Sea Buckthorn oil because I love a good night oil and ironically, the orange hue is very visually pleasing to me.When it arrived, I opened the bottle for a quick patch test, and the moment I opened it it smelled funky, and basically like the smell of rosehip oil that sat in my cupboard for 1.5 years (I ended up tossing that out since it gave me weird rashes and cysts). When I patch tested it, the smell of the oil still lingered, and I was fairly certain that shouldn't be the normal smell of sea buckthorn oil.So I went to check the batch code online, and turns out it was manufactured all the way in Jan 2019, so it's been sitting in their shelves for nearly 3 years! Needless to say, I returned it the next day and hoped that the store contained a newer batch of SB oil, but nope, funnily enough all of their stock came from the same batch from Jan 2019. I then went to another DECIEM store (I live in Toronto btw) and as expected, all the SB oils came from the one made in Jan 2019.I'm not sure what anyone's experience with buying oils, but I know from other companies, they do give an expiration date of the oils they make. However, DECIEM stipulates all their products have a shelf life of 3 years if unopened; regardless that SB oil would be nearing its 3 year mark anyways, but they are practically selling rancid bottles of it which worries me as some other consumers could be buying expired oils from them.Has anyone experienced similar before? I do think DECIEM should put on an expiry date of the oil just like they do with a couple of their other products (like the Niacinamide powder, which is ironic since a powder should be shelf stable for an extended period of time whereas a 100% natural oil will go rancid in less than 3 years)
