Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey y'all addicts, TIA for any advice. The problem: In the past few years I started getting mild allergies - think hayfever, but more to do with, like, some random piece of my house instead of grass pollen. (Yes I deep clean, no it does not solve the problem.) I'm mostly on top of the stuffy nose side of things, but I'm very not on top of the puffy eyes that come with it. At night, my eyelids swell up a little - just a bit, really not enough to bother a GP with - and I wake up with puffy lids top and bottom. That puffyness seems to stretch out the skin and make it dry, flaky, red, and kinda scaly or wrinkly, often all the way up to the top of my orbital bone below my eyebrows. As you can imagine, that fucks with my skin barrier and makes the situation worse. It is substantially more frequent and noticeable in winter and it's just kicked off again. What I use: I wash with either Una Brennan vit c cleansing oil or clean&clear cream wash, but neither goes near my eyes other than during rinsing. In winter daytime, I put LRP Toleriane ultra OR Toleriane ultra yeux generously around my eyes and sparingly elsewhere according to how dry the air/my skin is; if I'm to be outside, I add soap & glory sunscreen superfluid SPF 50, but not near my eyes. I also wear sunglasses. At night, I moisturize my whole face with Differin nightly. (Please note that I have used it since 2013, before the onset of allergies, and the allergies come and go completely independently of my using it, so I'm certain that it is not a contributing factor.) Then I add the LRP moisturizer again round my eyes. I also take antihistamines and beclometasone nightly.Last night, I decided my moisturizer wasn't sufficient and put some petroleum jelly on top of that to try and occlude the messed up skin. I stayed away from my eyes, but put a thin layer from about my mid-eyelid to my orbital bone as well as underneath. It didn't really have the desired effect, and it also seemed to melt and migrate around with whatever got stuck to it, so it seemed to make things worse if anything. After that long preamble: I'm looking for solutions I haven't tried that could intervene anywhere in this chain: better anti-allergy tactics, better moisturizers, better occlusives. I am in the UK so products relevant to here are most helpful, though US products that I can seek an analog for are still interested. Thanks again guys.
