[Acne] Vitamin D ended my cystic acne /boils. A story.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
First, I'm a normal person who just wants to try and help someone who may be where I was. I don't work for "big vitamin" 😐I had bad cystic acne as a teen and was put on Accutane. It cleared up the main issue and shrunk the number of cysts but the side effects were horrible and I stopped after a short course. I continued to get cystic acne in flare ups along jaw line, in cheeks, etc well into adulthood about once a month.I'm not talking normal acne, these are huge painful cysts that don't form a head and remain red and swell your entire area where they form. They also last weeks... If you have them, you know exactly what I'm talking about.A year ago on a whim, going into winter I decided to try and take a vitamin d supplement. Not for acne, but just because I live in Canada and know we don't get much in the winter months. And there was talk of it potentially having a good effect on covid 19 outcomes. After 3 months taking it, I realized randomly that I hadn't had a cyst flare-up. I chalked it up to luck. But as time went on I kept the streak alive. As it stands now I'm over a year without a cyst, which hasn't happened in my life and I'm in my thirties.. It motivated me to write this post.I then started googling and saw that there are some studies on vitamin d and acne but no definitive answer.. I had no idea before and I can only speak for my experience. If you're in my boat with recurring and seemingly never ending cysts and see this post it may be worth a shot. Maybe I was deficient, I never got bloods done for vitamin levels, but throughout all my dermatologist appointments it was never even a suggestion at any point to try.Its super cheap, in Canada anyways, (5$) for a bottle of vitamin d3 capsules and I take 2000iu a day. One pill in am and one with dinner.I still get a random little normal pimple once every few months. They're small and also seem to go away faster than before. But I don't care about them. It's the cysts that were the issue. Just know if you suffer from normal acne I can't really speak to that experience.I wish cystic acne on nobody. It's horrible and I lived far too long with it in my life. Give it a shot and hopefully it'll work for you too! Good luck.
