Home made Butter & Oil Lotion!

Beauty Tips For Body Care I have fairly dry skin and never could find a good lotion to help, well I figured I'd just make it myself one day so I went out and bought Shea butter: http://www.amazon.com/100%25-Unrefined-Organic-Shea-Butter/dp/B00D9NV2D4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1433077506&sr=8-2&keywords=shea+butterCocoa Butter: http://www.amazon.com/Certified-Unrefined-Incredible-Organically-Dominican/dp/B00CIZ0DNO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1433088605&sr=8-1&keywords=cocoa+butterJojoba Oil: http://www.amazon.com/NOW-Foods-Organic-Jojoba-ounce/dp/B0019LTGOU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1433077841&sr=8-2&keywords=Jojoba+OilAlso used Neem, Coconut, Olive and almond oil.Recipe:In a double boiler melt the shea and Cocoa together.Take some amount I'd like to use right away for lotion and mix in the Oils, you can measure it exactly but I personally just put in however much I want. Coconut oil/Olive oil are the bulk but the others are there in good amounts as well.I'd say the eventual mixture is 60-70% butter and the rest is the oil. Mix them together and let them harden (Takes about a day in room temperature). At this stage also use any essential oils you like, personally I'm a fan of a little bit of clove + Jasmine.Note that this lotion is strong, as in since it's all oil and fat a tiny bit is more than enough to cover a lot of skin so I usually put a decent amount of essential oil. Really strong to smell the lotion but when applied is a very light scent. For the unused Butter that I decided not to immediatly make lotion with, I just store it in a sealed container. Keep it in the fridge or in just some dark cool place. Whenever I'm running low on lotion I just break off some of the butter and toss it in the microwave for ~20-30 seconds to melt it down. Then mix in the oils and repeat the process.Result: $50ish initial cost but have lotion material that has lasted two people a year. Plus it has all these benefits:All pure and unrefined ingredients (Well as unrefined as an oil or butter can be), you can control exactly what goes into it. If you don't like olive oil then don't put any, if you love something then put it in.The lotion can be eaten, you may not digest some parts of it but unlike a lot of other lotions I'm not afraid of it getting near my mouth. If you're afraid of tasting the lotion why put it on your skin to be absorbed?Mild Sunblock + Insect repelling properties, this is a contribution of what you put into it but the butters + Jojoba have sunblocking properties while the essential oils you choose can repel insects. You can't really get much more moisturizing than lotion that is not only full of fats that absorbs easily but also seems to control bacteria on my face so helps with acne, once against just a little bit.I personally enjoy it and wouldn't really go back to using normal lotions:http://i.imgur.com/6GCL2MK.jpgJust a little picture of the final result
