Beauty Tips For Body Care
This is going to be a long post so get comfy.I have always had sensitive and difficult skin. I'm extremely sensitive to certain chemicals, preservatives, and even certain scents. In my pre-teen and teen years I went through all the typical treatments including oral, and topical (retain-a, benzoyl, etc.). I tried many different skin washes over the years... everything from cetaphil to pevonia to face washes with glycolic acid. Nothing really helped and my extremely, extremely sensitive skin would react to basically almost everything. Multiple aesthetaticians and a few dermatologist weren't able to help. But then (and now), I was against acutane because of some pre-existing kidney problems. Eventually, during college and in law school things started to get a little better though I still would battle breakouts, clogged pores, overdry skin, rashes, excessive oil, and everything in between. I can say that I wasn't "over drying" or "over moisturizing" my face.I developed a few techniques like changing my pillow case daily, using mild shampoos, drinking tons of water, and constant sanitation of phones, computers, etc. While I would still be rashy, oily, dry, or break out... things had started to get a little better. Then I got CANCER. I under went 6 cycles (12 treatments) of ABVD. Now my skin is just like... crazy. Out of control. OUT OF CONTROL. I am in remission and have been for 7 months but still can't seem to get my skin under control. It is like all my old problems are magnified. Breakouts, oiliness, dryness, rashes, irritation, and everything under the sun.I only use Jane Iredale make up (since I was 15) and disposable sponges. I use Image Oromedic products. I only wash with warm-ish water. No scrubs. Nothing containing alcohol (including shampoo). Alcohol free toner. Fragrance free. No mineral oil, no lanolin, petroleum, etc. No talc, or sulfate. Nothing with formaldehyde agents.Even the things that use to work for me no longer work. On top of that, I was diagnosed with Morphea which is an auto-immune skin disorder and am prone to dermatitis. I know I am going out on a limb here but does anyone have any recommendations, thoughts, or has gone through anything similar?Skin type: Combination, EXTREMELY SENSITIVE, auto-immune disorder... Skin concerns:I've tried everything. Dermatologists, Aestheticians. Everything. Post-chemo, extremely sensitive skin, breaking out, dryness, etc.tl;dr - extremely sensitive, post-chemo skin issues
