Slimy/dirty skin. Not sure where to start with what to add or change

Beauty Tips For Body Care
So nervous about putting my face up here, but I need some advice. Here are the pictures. http://imgur.com/a/hnnWmI tried to take them in the most natural light possible (except for the last 2, which were done facing a window in a room with an incandescent light on). They are also right after waking up, so I haven't done anything to it yet. I feel like it looks much more greasy and slimy in pictures, than the photos though. I only have an iphone 6 to take pictures, though. The problem with my skin is that it looks so slimy, dirty, and leathery. It isn't smooth. I've tried scrubs and sea salt, but all it tends to do is make my skin/neck red...it'll still look the same. The hyper-pigmentation on my face also does not help. I would say my skin type is oily, but it also seems dry as well (especially along cheeks and nose).I've been to the dermatologist a few times over the past year and they always seem slightly puzzled/exasperated as to why I'm there complaining about my skin. :/ I know I don't have cystic acne or lesions, but it still looks bad to me and I think it's also interfering with my makeup for looking decent. I've practically begged them and my gyno to do a hormone check, but they always wave it off that it doesn't really tell you anything (then why does the test exist...?) and you can have normal levels and still have problems, but I feel it'd be nice to at least KNOW. It's not like I don't have insurance to pay for it.Here is what I currently use:At night: Neutrogena makeup remover wipe Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (Dermo recommended) Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask (Dermo recommended, only use once a week because it's drying) Tretinoin 0.05% (average 3-4x a week, dermo prescribed) Aveeno Daily Moisturizing LotionMorning: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser again Neutrogena Clear Face liquid-lotion sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Makeup (Was using Estee Lauder Double Wear, but recently switched to Mac Face & Body)I am also on continuous Nuvaring usage due to period cramps.Do I need a better moisturizer or cleanser? Or exfoliant (the clear pore is supposed to exfoliate...)? Stop makeup? Should I add a chemical peel? If I do, should I stop the tretinoin? I honestly don't think the tretinoin is doing anything for me. I never got the purging/peeling that appears to be common with it. I've tried the mandelic acid peel from MUAC before, since it's supposed to be better for dark skin, but I also don't think it did anything for me...except dry my face.Sorry, I know this is a lot of questions, but I just feel so lost.
