Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm a guy and I have pretty persistent but fortunately moderate acne. It's not severe, but it's more than just zit or two every week. My derm has me on 100mg of minocycline 2x a day and retin-a micro gel .08% once a day at night. He recommended I try using Hibiclens to wash my face when I shower, which I think means once a day, and continue using CeraVe foaming for when I wash my face outside of the shower.I'm excited to see how my skin responds to the Chlorhexidine Gluconate in Hibiclens since I've read that it's a super effective antimicrobial and that it kills bacteria on your skin for hours- unlike BP. The BP in Proactive cleared me up 100% a few years ago, but these days it seems like my skin doesn't respond as well to BP.However, I'm a little worried by the large amount of isopropyl alcohol and fragrance in Hibiclens. Couldn't that dry or irritate my skin pretty easily, and make my red marks last longer? I doubt it would do good things to my moisture barrier...although I checked and its ph level is supposedly between 5 and 6.5, so it can't be too bad, right? My derm thinks it would be more gentle and effective than a BP wash, but I dunno...just the smell of isopropyl alcohol makes my skin feel dry lolI was wondering if anyone else had any experience or had heard of anyone using hibiclens to treat acne. Or if there's another way to incorporate Chlorhexidine Gluconate in my routine that's more gentle- maybe a gel or something?
