[acne] Routine for a 12 year old boy?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
My son is starting to develop acne and I really want to get a handle on it early. I had bad acne and ended up going on Accutane in my 20s which worked amazingly well. I'm hoping he doesn't have the same skin issues I did, but if he does I will take him to a dermatologist. I'm trying to set up a good routine for him but keep in mind, he's a 12 year old boy who can barely remember to brush his teeth so it has to be simple. He is getting mostly small white pimples on his nose and forehead as well as black heads on his nose. The white heads (I guess that's what you call them) are hard and if you try to pop or scrape one the pus is like a solid little mass. Here's the routine I've been having him follow: Wash AM and PM with a clean microfiber washcloth. I bought him some Neutrogena salacylic acid cleanser but I'm not sure how much he uses it as it's in the shower. Extra strength Stridex pads used am and pm. Benzyl peroxide (I think we are using Persagel) at night on the blemished areas. I had some Retin A .05% cream (my own RX for wrinkles) that I tried on the worst areas and while it may have helped, it left his skin really red and sore and I'm concerned about sun exposure this time of the year. Is there anything simple we are overlooking? I'm sure I can ask his pediatrician to call in a prescription for a topical product if there is something that may work better. Maybe Epiduo?
