[ACNE] [AHA] Introduced AHA and now my face is a MESS...how do I recover back to my normal skin?!

Beauty Tips For Body Care
In June, I discovered SCA and decided to try AHAs on my face. I've always had acne-prone skin and it came to worst in high school. After that teenage phase, I had occasional acne (including during periods). I finished a tub of St. Ives exfoliants, so I've been 2 months in. My skin was completely fine in the first 2 weeks of use. And slowly and gradually, my skin become very bumpy (seemed like purging). However, it only got worse from there.I thought my skin was purging from all the gunk that's been lying underneath but all of these "whiteheads", so to speak, became inflamed and now my face is a huge mess. I kept believing that my face was under a purge so i purchase Nip + Fab. It has been about a good 3-4 months (of horrendous skin) and now my acne is inflamed (forehead, sides of face, to the cheekbone) and RED.My acne has never been this way before in my life. I went to the dermatologist and told her about my AHA routine. She told me my skin is not due to the AHA. I'm so confused....because ever since I introduced AHA to my skin, my skin has been huge sprouts of closed comedones all coming to heads. She also told me that I can continue my use of these exfoliant pads......what....Then what is the cause of this raging acne? PLEASE HELP...why is my skin acting this way? My routine at that point was just the AHA and moisturizer (cervae in a tub). Also, the dermatologist at my university dermatology prescribed doxycycline. I've been taking that for a couple of days now and I pray that my skin will get better. But I'm still trying to figure out what the cause of my acne is? :(Also, I was prescribed Retina and duac topical gel during my high school years when I had acne. I stopped using these products once I introduced the AHA into my routine, but now I'm back on it because I think that these products could help my skin right now. Currently, I have not been using the AHA. Also, the bumpiness that I initially had before the acne slowly coming to head (almost everyday) has calmed down. Currently, it is inflamed/red or has come to head.Any suggestions on how to recover and avoid scarring as well? I hate looking at my face everyday and occasionally cry from seeing how disgusting I look...PLEASE HELP...HOW CAN I GET MY SKIN BACK?
