Beauty Tips For Body Care
By now, I've used 2 bottles of Paula's Choice C15 serum. While the serum inside the bottle remains a very pale yellow and is not oxidized, anytime the serum leaves the bottle, it is liable to tint anything it touches a rusty orange -- for me, this includes the headband I use during my skincare routine, light colored pillowcases, and even calluses on my hand(!). Given this behavior, I eventually made the connection that this product was darkening the sebaceous filaments on my nose and cheek area and making it appear as if I had blackheads -- and in fact, it was even darkening an area of skin around the outside of my lips and causing an oddly colored lip-liner effect. I wish I had taken pictures, because now that I've stopped applying C15 to the center of my face, all these effects have disappeared.Has anyone had a similar experience? Better yet, had that experience with PC's C15 and not with another Vitamin C product? I love what it does for my skin, so I might shell out for the SkinCeuticals version just the once to see if their fancypants version doesn't do the same thing.ETA: I also used non-prescription 1.5% retinol, daily 2% BHA, and weekly 10% AHA, products containing niacinamide/azelaic acid/hydroquinine (not all at once!), etc during those 6 months so I think I covered any ingredients I would have hoped would have combated the weird tinting effect. I cleansed with the Clarisonic 1x per day using the sensitive skin brush.
